press12.11 PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY REZONINGS & SPECIAL USES CYCLE 250 Public hearings will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. After the public hearings, the Planning Commission will make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors (“BOS”) and the Board of Zoning Appeals (“BZA”). The schedule contains five (5) Rezoning Applications and two (2) Special Use Permit Applications. The BOS will hold a public hearing and rule on five (5) Rezoning Applications on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. The BZA will hold a public hearing and rule on two (2) Special Use Permit Applications on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. Copies of the proposed Rezoning Applications and Special Use Permit Applications are available for public review in the Office of Code Compliance, 53 North Main Street, Chatham, Virginia, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Case 1 Paul W. Haymes & Linda T. Haymes, R-11-043 – The property is 37.96 acres (part of 38.89 acres), located on State Road 62/Milton Highway, in the Dan River Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as part of GPIN # 2366-18-2627. The applicants are requesting to rezone the R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District portion (approximately 37.96 acres), to A-1, Agricultural District, to make the property one zoning district and for agricultural use (pastureland and hay). The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, and B-2, Business District, General uses. The applicants are requesting to rezone the R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District portion (approximately 3.25 acres), to A-1, Agricultural District, to make the property one zoning district. The applicants are requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, to A-1, Agricultural District, to acquire additional property to add to their existing parcel in order to place a double-wide mobile home for their personal residence on the property and for possible subdivision of the property in the future to convey the existing dwelling to their son. The applicant is requesting to rezone the R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District portion (approximately 2.00 acres), to A-1, Agricultural District, to make the property one zoning district. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, and R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District uses. The property is zoned R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District. The applicant is requesting a Special Use Permit for non-emergency medical transport. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, B-1, Business District, Limited, M-1, Industrial District, Light Industry, and RMF, Residential Multi-Family District uses. Case S-2 Kenneth Wayne Gibson, S-11-016 – The property is 19.02 acres, located off U.S. Highway 29 North, in the Staunton River Election District, and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 2533-28-5538/32-A-65. The property is zoned A-1, Agricultural District. The applicant is requesting a Special Use Permit for an electrical public substation. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, RC-1, Residential Combined Subdivision District, and B-2, Business District, General uses. SPECIAL USE PERMITS. to delete the following: Public Garages. The meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, of the Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition in Chatham, Virginia.
