press 07.11 PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY REZONINGS CYCLE 245 Public hearings will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. After the public hearings, the Planning Commission will make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors (“BOS”). The schedule contains four (4) Rezoning Applications. The BOS will hold a public hearing and rule on the four (4) Rezoning Applications on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. Copies of the proposed Rezoning Applications are available for public review in the Office of Code Compliance, 53 North Main Street, Chatham, Virginia, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Case 7 Danville-Pittsylvania Regional Industrial Facility Authority, R-11-027 – The properties are a total of 3,528.65 acres, twelve (12) parcels, located on State Road 863/Berry Hill Road, State Road 621/Ed Hardy Road, State Road 862/Oak Hill Road, State Road 875/Horseshoe Road and State Road 880/Stateline Bridge Road, in the Tunstall and Westover Election Districts and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN #s 1356-75-8216/173-A-25A, 1356-97-1357/173-A-24B, 1356-97-1468/173-A-24C, 1366-16-2959, 1366-37-2002, 1366-54-5996/174-A-4, 1366-78-4718/174-A-1A, 1367-01-8739/159-A-38, 1367-05-8278/159-A-36, 1367-42-8434, 1367-70-4519/174-A 1, and 1377-01-1754/174-A-2. The applicant is requesting to rezone from A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, and M-1, Industrial District, Light Industry, to M-2, Industrial District, Heavy Industry, for development of an Industrial Park. The current Comprehensive Plan indicates the area has the following uses: A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, RC-1, Residential Combined Subdivision District, B-2, Business District, General, M-1, Industrial District, Light Industry, and RE, Residential Estates District uses. The Comprehensive Plan projects the Future Land Use of the area to be Industrial. Zoning conditions and ordinance standards shall control the density of allowable development. Case 1 H. Wayne Yeatts & Patricia D. Yeatts, R-11-028 – The property is 14.49 acres, located off State Road 685/Chalk Level Road, in the Banister Election District, and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 2436-12-1340/99-A-56A. The applicants are requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, to A-1, Agricultural District, to combine with GPIN # 2436-03-4690/86-A-78A for agricultural use. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, and R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District uses. Zoning conditions and ordinance standards shall control the density of allowable development. Case 2 Walter D. Osborne, R-11-029 – The properties are a total of 4.16 acres, two (2) parcels, located on State Road 1080/Belair Road, in the Callands-Gretna Election District, and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN #s 2429-41-1610/72-12-5 (3.16 acres) and 2429-41-2301/72-12-4 (1.00 acre). The applicant is requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, to A-1, Agricultural District, in order to combine with part of GPIN # 2429-41-4522 (0.825 acre, per plat) zoned A-1 for a right-of-way to the creek. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, and A-1, Agricultural District uses. Zoning conditions and ordinance standards shall control the density of allowable development. Case 3 Shelton Living Trust, Stover C. Shelton, Trustee, & Margaret H. Shelton, Trustee, R-11-030 – The property is 0.225 acre (per plat), (part of 126.12 acres), located on State Road 799/Climax Road, in the Callands-Gretna Election District, and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as part of GPIN # 1497-38-2713. The applicants are requesting to rezone from A-1, Agricultural District, to R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, to be combined with GPIN # 1497-49-2799/83-A-2A, zoned R-1. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, and R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District uses. Zoning conditions and ordinance standards shall control the density of allowable development.
