Press 06.11 PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY REZONINGS, SPECIAL USES & VARIANCE CYCLE 244 Public hearings will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. After the public hearings, the Planning Commission will make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors (“BOS”) and the Board of Zoning Appeals (“BZA”). The schedule contains seven (7) Rezoning Applications, two (2) Special Use Applications and one (1) Variance Application. The BOS will hold a public hearing and rule on the seven (7) Rezoning Applications on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. The BZA will hold a public hearing and rule on the two (2) Special Use Permit Applications and one (1) Variance Application on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. Copies of the proposed Rezoning and Variance Applications are available for public review in the Office of Code Compliance, 53 North Main Street, Chatham, Virginia, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Case 1 Timothy W. Dudley & Sandra B. Dudley, R-11-021 – The property is 0.85 acre, located on State Road 633/Clover Road, in the Staunton River Election District, and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN# 2555-99-1568/8-A-100. The applicants are requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, to RMF, Residential Multi-Family District, for construction of a two (2) unit apartment building. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, A-1, Agricultural District, MHP, Residential Manufactured Housing Park District, and B-2, Business District, General uses. The applicants are requesting to rezone the A-1, Agricultural District portion (approximately 5.37 acres), to R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, to make the zoning consistent with the remaining 3.88 acres zoned R-1. The applicant is requesting to rezone from A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, and M-1, Industrial District, Light Industry to M-2, Industrial District, Heavy Industry, for development of an Industrial Park. The applicant is requesting a Special Use Permit for meat processing – not a slaughter house.
