Public hearings will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. After
the public hearings, the Planning Commission will make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors. The schedule contains (3) Rezoning Applications and (2) Special Use Permit Applications.
The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing and rule on (3) Rezoning Applications on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor,
Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. The Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing and rule on (2) Special Use Permit Applications on Tuesday, January 11,
2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia.
Case 1 Phillip W. Hutson & Susan H. Hutson, R-11-001 – The property is 0.27 acre, located on State Road 865/Hutson Road, in the Chatham-Blairs Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania
County Tax Maps as part of GPIN # 1491-65-7149/136-A-48B. The applicants are requesting to rezone the R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District portion (approximately 0.27 acre)
to A-1, Agricultural District to make the zoning consistent with the remaining 99.08 acres.
Case 2 John S. Lemons, Et Als, Brenda Lemons Seay, Et Als & Robert Seay, Et Als, R-11-002 – The property is 1.55 acres, located on State Road 902/Sharon Lane, in the Tunstall Election
District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 1379-89-2654/148D-2-2. The applicants are requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to
A-1, Agricultural District to allow for placement of a single-wide mobile home for the brother’s residence.
Case 3 Samuel Tarpley Adams, Jr., Trustee, R-11-003 – The property is 3.284 acres (per plat), located on State Road 1044/Beechnut Road, in the Tunstall Election District and shown on
the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as part of GPIN # 1493-47-2557. The applicant is requesting to rezone from A-1, Agricultural District to M-2, Industrial District, Heavy Industry for
a salvage yard. (If this rezoning is approved, a Special Use Permit approved by the Board of Zoning Appeals will be required.)
Case S-1 Dwayne L. Johnson & Angela T. Johnson, S-11-001 – The property is 64.00 acres, located off State Road 713/Birch Creek Road, in the Dan River Election District and shown on the
Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 2461-23-0933/141-A-60C. The applicants are requesting a Special Use Permit for a recreational facility/public facility (haunted house).
Case S-2 Kenneth George Garrison, Jr., & Kimberly D. Garrison, S-11-002 - The property is 0.70 acre, located on State Road 755/Mercury Road, in the Staunton River Election District and
shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 2524-63-3993. The applicants are requesting a Special Use Permit for a single-wide mobile home for their personal residence.
