VIRGINIA: The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors' ("Board") Joint Meeting with
the School Board was held on February 21, 2023, in the Board Meeting Room, 39 Bank Street, SE,
Chatham, Virginia 24531.
CALL TO ORDER (3:00 PM)
Dalton called the Meeting to Order at 3:00 PM
ROLL CALL
The following Board Members were present:
Darrell W. Dalton - Chairman, Callands-Gretna District
Timothy W. Dudley - Vice-Chairman, Staunton River District
Timothy W. Chesher - Dan River District
William "Vic" Ingram - Tunstall District
Ronald S. Scearce - Westover District
Robert M. Tucker, Jr. - Banister District
Robert W. Warren - Chatham-Blairs District
The following School Board Members were present:
Calvin D. Doss – Chairman, Callands-Gretna District
Kelly H. Merricks – Vice-Chair, Dan River District
J. Samuel Burton – Chatham-Blairs District
Willie T. Fitzgerald – Banister District
George V. Henderson – Tunstall District
Kevin W. Mills – Westover District

NEW BUSINESS
a. School Division's Budget Request Presentation
Dr. Jones presented to the Board the School's Budget request for the upcoming year. Jones stated
that all County Elementary, Middle, and High Schools are at or above State average on the SOL
pass rates. Mrs. T. Worley also covered their plans for spending the remaining CARES ACT and
ARPA funds, as well as ADM history, and School Board priorities for FY 2024. The full
