For the citizens’ convenience, all Work Session and Committee Meetings are now being

internal Board and County Staff communication, discussion, and work. It is not a
question and answer session with the audience. Accordingly, during the Work Session,
no questions or comments from the audience will be entertained. Respectfully, any
outbursts or disorderly conduct from the audience will not be tolerated and may result in
the offending person’s removal from the Work Session. As a reminder, all County
citizens, and other appropriate parties as designated by the Board’s Bylaws, are permitted

A Virginia Department of Health “(VDH”) representative will attend the Board’s January Work
Session to discuss the VDH’s request to retain FY22 and FY23 Budget balances totaling
$10,124.64 and $95,376, respectively. For the Board’s review, attached is an e-mail from the
VDH with a brief description of how it plans to use this funding if the Board approves the related
retention.

Kim,
We would like to request the FY23 current year unmatched funding in the amount of $95,376. I’m sure this will have to
be presented at the Board meeting so can you send me that date?
Since we plan to go to the Board for the above, we will probably request to retain the FY22 funding as well ($10,124.64).
If approved we plan to use the funding to install a generator at the Chatham Health Department (approximately $40k),
purchase a large pharmacy grade refrigerator (approximately $20k) and use any remaining balances for vaccines for the
community.
Our director would like to prepare for the influx of people into the area because of the casino that is coming.
