The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday,
August 21, 2018, in the Pittsylvania County General District Courtroom, Second Floor, Edwin R.
Shields Courthouse Addition, in Chatham, Virginia 24531, to receive citizen input on proposed
revisions to Chapter 17, Solid Waste Disposal, of the Pittsylvania County Code (“PCC”).
Specifically, the following significant changes to PCC Chapter 17 are proposed: addition of
definition of “Uninhabitable Dwelling” definition (PCC § 17-2(M)); clarification on the due date
and related non-payment interest for the Solid Waste Disposal Fee (PCC § 17-15); addition to
“Waste Not Disposed of in County’s Landfill Exemption” (PCC § 17-18(B)); and revision of
“Violations of Chapter/Article; Penalties” (PCC § 17-21). A complete text of the proposed change
