from the audience will not be tolerated and may result in the offending person’s removal

The Pittsylvania County Industrial Development Authority (“IDA’) works with County Staff to
promote County industry and trade. The County’s Economic Development Department works
very closely with the IDA, and due to the retirement of many longstanding members and the
addition of new IDA members, County Staff desires to use this opportunity to redetermine
and reconsider the IDA’s future purpose, scope, vision, role, and direction. County Staff
respectfully requests that the Committee consider and interject recommendations on the
same. Finally, County Staff desires the Committee to also discuss and envision how County
Staff can best interact and support the IDA in accomplishing its/the County’s mission.

CLOSED MEETING CERTIFICATION
BE IT RESOLVED that at the Economic Development Committee Meeting of the
Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors on December 15, 2020, the Committee hereby certifies
by a recorded vote that to the best of each Committee Member’s knowledge only public business
matters lawfully exempted from the Open Meeting requirements of the Virginia Freedom of
Information Act (“Act”) and identified in the Motion authorizing the Closed Meeting were heard,
discussed, or considered in the Closed Meeting. If any Committee Member believes that there
was a departure from the requirements of the Act, he shall so state prior to the vote indicating the
substance of the departure. The Statement shall be recorded in the Committee’s Minutes.
