RESOLUTION

VIRGINIA: At the adjourned meeting of the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors
held on Tuesday, December 18, 2007, the following resolution was presented and adopted
congratulating the Gretna Hawks Varsity Football Team on the 2007 Group A, Division II
State Championship: .
WHEREAS, the 2Q07 Gretna Hawks Varsity Football Team has had a perfect
undefeated season; and
WHEREAS, the Gretna Hawks Varsity Football Team after completing a perfect
undefeated season won the Group A, Division II State Championship, again bringing back
the State Championship Crown to Gretna, Virginia; and
WHEREAS, the Gretna Hawks Varsity Football Team exhibited exemplary
sportsmanship and talent as they defeated their opponents in the District, Regional, and
State Championship, bringing the Gretna High School Hawks Varsity Football Team back
into the Group A State Championship circle; and
WHEREAS, the Gretna Hawks. Varsity Football Team has performed admirably
with an undefeated winning season through 2007 bringing recognition not only - to
themselves, but to their school and to their County and its citizens;
THEN BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Pittsylvania County Board of
Supervisors, on the behalf of all of the citizens of Pittsylvania County, express their sincere
appreciation, admiration, and congratulations to the Gretna Hawks Varsity Football Team
of 2007 for their winning season and bringing back the State Championship to the County
of Pittsylvania and the Town of Gretna for the State Group A, Division II High School
Football; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the copy of this Resolution be presented to the
Coach and the Members of the 2007 Gretna Hawks High School Varsity Football Team.
