RESOLUTION
2007-11-75
WHEREAS, Peggy L. Crawley started her career with Pittsylvania County in
March of 1965 providing 42 years of service to the citizens of Pittsylvania County; and
WHEREAS, Peggy L. Crawley began her career with Pittsylvania County working
in General Reassessment, under the guidance, having been hired by, the Honorable W.
Garland Turner, former Commissioner of Revenue and later began working in the
Commissioner of Revenues office; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Crawley continued serving Pittsylvania County under the terms
of the Honorable Hunt A. Meadows, III, and the Honorable Samuel L. Swanson, Jr. ,- and
WHEREAS, in September of 1988, Ms. Crawley was appointed as Chief Deputy
for the Commissioner of Revenue, a position that she held until her retirement; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Peggy L. Crawley, being a dedicated and loyal public servant
who faithfully performed her duties diligently and in a dependable manner for over 42
years for the County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Pittsylvania County Board of
Supervisors expresses its sincere appreciation for the service of Peggy L. Crawley to the
citizens of Pittsylvania County as a Chief Deputy for the Commissioner of Revenue of
Pittsylvania County upon her retirement on October 31, 2007; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors directs that a
copy of this resolution be presented to Peggy L. Crawley on behalf of the Board of
Supervisors and the citizens of Pittsylvania County.
