RESOLUTION
2007-08-63
WHEREAS, the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors has been working
with the Pittsylvania County Service Authority, the Henry County Service Authority, and
the Henry County Board of Supervisors to provide a new water source for the
southwestern and western side of Pittsylvania County; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Pittsylvania County has solicited and
received an EDA grant, two Tobacco Idemnification grants, and one Special Project grant
to assist is the financing of the necessary improvements to the Henry County water
distribution system in order to provide this water; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors,
the Pittsylvania County Service Authority, and the Henry County Service Authority to
enter into an agreement for the providing of the necessary water and the necessary
improvements to receive that water; and
WHEREAS, a water and sewer purchase agreement between the three parties
has been developed and dated, August 21, 2007; then
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Pittsylvania County Board of
Supervisors are in agreement with the commitments and requirements of the water
purchase agreement between Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors, the Pittsylvania
County Service Authority, and the Henry County Service Authority, dated August 21,
2007 and hereby approve the project and improvements as described and authorize the
chairman to sign the agreement on behalf of the Board of Supervisors
