VIRGINIA: AT THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE PITTSYLVANIA
COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS IN THE GENERAL DISTRICT COURTROOM
IN CHATHAM, VIRGINIA ON TUESDAY, JUNE 19, 2007, THE FOLLOWING
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED:
WHEREAS, the Danville City Council has elected to raise utility rates, for water,
sewer, and electricity to help bring additional income to the general budget of the City of
Danville ;and
WHEREAS, a significant number of citizens of Pittsylvania County are serviced by
electricity, and by other utilities in the City of Danville; and
WHEREAS, changes of these utility rates will directly affect changes to Pittsylvania
County citizens increasing their general operational cost of living to support the City's
General fund ;and
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Pittsylvania hereby opposes the increases in the utilities designated by the City of Danville
which will effect the citizens of Pittsylvania County; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be submitted to
Danville City Council on behalf of the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors.
