Railroad Spur to Intertape Polymer GroupPITTSYLVANIA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLUTION 2007-OS-45 VIRGINIA: At a regular meeting on Monday, March 6, 2006, and at an adjourned meeting on Tuesday, September 19, 2006, of the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors, resolutions were adopted in support of a railroad spur to Intertape Polymer Group, Inc.; and WHEREAS, Intertape Polymer Group, Inc. has expressed its intent and desire to the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors to expand its industrial operations in Pittsylvania County; and WHEREAS, the expansion at Intertape Polymer Group, Inc. required an additional rail spur; and WHEREAS, the officials of Intertape Polymer Group, Inc. have reported to the county their intent to apply for Industrial Access Railroad Funds from the Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Rail and Public Transportation in the amount of $65,000; and WHEREAS, the previous applications were not submitted or approved by the Commonwealth Transportation Board; and WHEREAS, Intertape Polymer Group, Inc. has requested that the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors provide a resolution supporting its application for said funds which are administered by the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Pittsylvania hereby endorses and supports the application of Intertape Polymer Group, Inc. for $65,000 in Industrial Access Railroad Track Funds; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County of Pittsylvania hereby makes known its desire and intent to assist the Commonwealth Transportation Board in providing the maximum financial assistance to Intertape Polymer Group, Inc. for the purpose of expanding it facility in Pittsylvania County where in the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors has paid the matching share of $45,000, and request the Commonwealth Transportation Board support and approve the request of $65,000 in Industrial Access Railroad Track Funds. WHEREAS, Intertape Polymer Group, Inc. has expressed its intent, and desire to the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors to expand its industrial operations in Pittsylvania County; and WHEREAS, the expansion at Intertape Polymer Group, Inc. will require an additional rail spur; and WHEREAS, the officials of Intertape Polymer Group, Inc. have reported to the county their intent to apply for industrial access railroad funds from the Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Rail and Public Transportation in the amount of $110,000; and WHEREAS, Intertape Polymer Group, Inc. has requested that the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors provide a resolution supporting its application. for said funds which are administered by the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation.
