R E S O L U T I O N
# 2007-04-29
VIRGINIA: At a regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Pittsylvania County,
Virginia, held on the 17a' day of April, 2007, it was duly moved and seconded:
WHEREAS; the School Board of Pittsylvania Chanty, Virginia haG dull determined.that.
it no longer has use for some of its real property, being that certain lot or parcel of land:
All of that certain lot or tract of land, lying in the County of
Pittsylvania, Virginia, one mile from Mt. Airy, containing 1 acre
and 36 poles, more or less, and being more particularly described
in that deed from Matilda Barksdale to the Staunton River School
Trustees, dated February 2, 1880, said deed being recorded in the
Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Pittsylvania County,
Virginia in deed book 75, page 280 to which reference is hereby
made for a more particular description of the property which is the
subject of this Resolution, and further being the exact same
property conveyed by the School Board of Staunton River District
pursuant to the County School Board of Pittsylvania County,
Virginia pursuant to statutory mandate by deed dated August 14,
1922, said deed being recorded in the aforesaid Clerk's Office in
deed book 174, page 164, to which reference is hereby made.
WHEREAS, the School Board of Pittsylvania County, Virginia, has adopted a Resolution
declaring that the aforesaid property is deemed to be surplus, and stating its intention to convey
such property to the Boazd of Supervisors of Pittsylvania County, Virginia.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Supervisors of Pittsylvania
County, Virginia does hereby accept the conveyance of the aforementioned real property
pursuant to Section 22.1-129, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, and the Board of Supervisors
of Pittsylvania County, Virginia does hereby authorize its duly appointed County Attorney, John
P. Light, to draft an appropriate deed to convey said property from the School Board of
Pittsylvania County, Virginia to the Board of Supervisors of Pittsylvania County, Virginia, and
does hereby authorize the duly appointed Chairman of the Boazd of Supervisors of Pittsylvania
County, Virginia, Coy E. Hazville, to execute said deed on behalf of the Boazd of Supervisors of
Pittsylvania County, Virginia.
And the motion carried by unanimous vote by those present.
