Employees
BE IT RESOLVED, that the County of Pittsylvania, Employer Code 5-5171, does
hereby elect to provide an additional health insurance credit of $1.00 per year of
creditable service as provided in § 51.1-1403(B) of the Code of Virginia as applicable for
its eligible current and future retired employees as defined in § 51.1-124.3 of the Code of
Virginia; and
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED, that the County of Pittsylvania agrees to accept all
liability for any current or future additional employer contributions and any increases in
current or future employer contribution rates resulting from its election to provide the
benefits of the enhanced local option health insurance credit for its current and future
teacher retirees; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County of Pittsylvania elects to allow its
eligible future retirees to receive the local option health insurance credit effective April 1,
2007; and
NOW, THEREFORE, Coy E. Harville, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of
Pittsylvania County, and William D. Sleeper, Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of
Pittsylvania County, are hereby authorized and directed in the name of the County of
Pittsylvania to execute any required contract in order that said eligible retirees of the
County of Pittsylvania may receive the local option enhanced health credit as provided
for in the Code of Virginia. In execution of any contract which may be required, the seal
of the County of Pittsylvania shall be affixed and attested by the Clerk, and said officers
of the County of Pittsylvania are authorized and directed to pay over to the Treasurer of
Virginia from time to time such sums as are due to be paid by the County of Pittsylvania
for this purpose.
CERTIFICATE
I, William D. Sleeper, Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Pittsylvania, certify that the foregoing is true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a
lawfully organized meeting of the Board of Supervisors held at Chatham, Virginia at 7:00
o'clock on March 20, 2007. Given under my hand and seal of the County of Pittsylvania
