Transco Gas LinePITTSYLVANIA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLUTION 2007-03-21 WHEREAS, Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Corporation is widening its pipeline easement through Pittsylvania County; and WHEREAS, said Company: has established 'rules and, requirements, attached hereto as Exhibit A, restrcting> everely what the servient'Pttsylvania County landowners can do with their lands subject to the easement, such that the .pipeline easement is in effect a taking of the ownership of the land instead of merely an easement; and WHEREAS, said rules-and restrictions„are causing or will cause great hardships to the servent landowners with respect to farming, driveways and roads, water_and sewer lines now and henceforth. ..NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT 'RESOLVED, that -the County. Attorney of Pittsylvania County shall file a motion in the Federal Court dealing with the pipeline matter asking',. the Court to order or mandate an amelioration of the foresaid rules and restrictions by said Company and reduce the aforesaid hardships so that the servient landowners will be able to exercise their land rights in coexistence with the. pipeline. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that' copies of this Resolution be sent to our Fifth District Congressman and our two U. S: Senators with the request that they should inquire into this matter and pursue the best interests of our Pittsylvania County servient landowners to reduce the aforesaid hardships to them.
