Resolution requesting the Virginia Department of Transportation
assistance for Urban Corridor and Access Management Study
for US. Highway 29
WHEREAS, the Pittsylvania-County Board of Supervisors have requested two studies
for a traffic light at eToys Drive and U.S. Highway 29; and
WHEREAS, there is continued growth and interest,_in business, commercial and
industrial development, along U.S. Highv ay 29_froin State Route 726 to State Route 703; and
WHEREAS, current Stag Legislation .requires the Virginia 'Department of
Transportation and Local Governments to work together concerning. Land Use and Zoning
changes as well as development`along transportation corridors; then
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED,-° that the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors
respectfully request the Virginia Department of Transportation to develop a special Urban
Corridor Study and Access Management Study pertaining to Land Use along U.S. Highway 29
from State Route 726 to State Route 703; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, thaf the Pittsylvania County Board "of Supervisors
request a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Residency Administrator of the Virginia
Department of Transportation.
