RESOLUTION
2013-02-06
At a meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Pittsylvania County held on
February 19, 2013, the following was resolved.
WHEREAS, the bridge over Whitethorn Creek located on Route 676 (Taylors Mill
Road), from 0.020 miles north of Route 689 to 1.05 miles south of Route 1069, is in need of
bridge replacement;
WHEREAS, in order to make this replacement, it will be necessary to close this
portion of Route 676(Taylors Mill Road), 0.020 miles north of Route 689 to 1.05 miles south of
Route 1069,to through traffic, with construction estimated to begin in early summer 2014 and
end in early fall 2015;
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Supervisors of
Pittsylvania County concurs with the Department of Transportation to temporarily close
Route 676(Taylors Mill Road) to accomplish the proposed work. The Department of
Transportation will provide adequate signs for the closure and detour of this portion of Route
676 (Taylors Mill Road)along Route 676, Route 903, Route 687, and Route 689 during this
period and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the
Residency Administrator of the Virginia Department of Transportation, Halifax Residency.
