RESOLUTION
2015-12-04
VIRGINIA: At the regular meeting of the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors held on
Tuesday, December 15, 2015, the following resolution was adopted commending Hunter Shelton
on his successful golf season and winning the 2015 Virginia High School League Group 2A Golf
Championship.
WHEREAS, Hunter Shelton's 2015 golf season has been the most successful in the history of
Chatham High School; and
WHEREAS, Hunter Shelton entered his junior high school year after winning the 25th Smith
Mountain Lake/Andrew Haley Memorial Junior Golf Tournament; and
WHEREAS, throughout September 2015, Hunter Shelton continued his winning season with
consistent scores; and
WHEREAS, at the October 7, 2015 meet, Hunter Shelton received All-Conference 37 honors
and a third-place finish at the 2A West Region meet; and
WHEREAS, on October 13, 2015, Hunter Shelton overcame a three-stroke deficit in the final
round and won the Virginia High School League Group 2A Championship, being Chatham High
School's first golf championship; and
WHEREAS, Hunter Shelton has performed admirably throughout his winning season of 2015,
bringing recognition not only to himself but to his school, his County, and its citizens; then
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,that the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors,
on the behalf of all the citizens of Pittsylvania County, express their sincere appreciation,
admiration and congratulations to Hunter Shelton for his winning season and his 2015 Virginia
High School League Group 2A Golf Championship title; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be presented to Hunter Shelton.
