RESOLUTION
2015-09-02
R VIRGINIA: At the adjourned meeting of the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors
held in the General District Courtroom of the Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition in
Chatham, Virginia on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, the following resolution was
presented and adopted:
WHEREAS, House Bill 2 was signed into law in 2014 to create a better way to
balance transportation needs and prioritize transportation investments throughout the
Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, House Bill 2 required the Commonwealth Transportation Board
(CTB) to develop and implement a quantifiable and transparent prioritization process for
making funding decisions; and
WHEREAS, the CTB has developed a process where proposed projects will be
evaluated based on a uniform set of measures that are applicable Statewide, while
recognizing important regional factors; and
WHEREAS, the entities eligible to submit proposed transportation projects to the
CTB include Counties, and Pittsylvania County is eligible to submit projects based on the
presence of Corridors of Statewide significance and a Regional Network; then;
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Pittsylvania County Board of
Supervisors supports HB2 applications for the following projects:
1) Climax Road Improvements
2) Mount Cross Road, Tunstall High Road and Stony Mill Road Intersection
Improvements. I
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a certified copy of this resolution be
forwarded to the Virginia Department of Transportation Residency Administrator.
