RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION-MORRIS C. STOWE
The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors("Board")adopted the following Resolution at its Business Meeting
on December 21,2021:
WHEREAS, Morris C. Stowe ("Stowe") was born on February 10, 1934, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia
("County"),and he was the son of Mosco and Rebecca Stowe of the Axton Community; and
WHEREAS,Stowe was a graduate of Brosville High School;and
WHEREAS,he married Loretta Lea Andrews on July 8, 1961,and have now been married for sixty(60)years,
having three(3) sons,Noel,Norris,and Norman; and
WHEREAS, Stowe worked on the family farm,Dan River Mills,Fuller Tire Company,Pritchett Oil Company,
and Wrenn Yeatts Funeral Home;and
WHEREAS, he accepted the Lord at Bethlehem Baptist Church, and later he became a Deacon at Sharon
Baptist Church and is now a member at Hillcrest Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Stowe worked with youth in the Tunstall Marching Band for a number of years, even after his
sons had graduated and he supported the County Graduate of Merit for the past eighteen(18)years,and he has served
in various roles in Boy Scouts, including becoming a member of the Order of the Arrow in scouting;and
WHEREAS, Stowe served on the School Board from 1995 until 2015 in the Tunstall District, and he also
served as the Tunstall District representative on the Planning Commission from January 1, 1990 until December 4,
2021;and
WHEREAS,Stowe has given freely of his time,knowledge,and experience to fulfill the duties of the position;and
WHEREAS,Stowe has strived diligently to promote the health,safety,and general welfare of all County citizens.
NOW, BE IT RESOLVED, that Board expresses its sincere appreciation to Stowe for the noble
dedication of his time towards the development of the County;and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a certified copy of this Resolution be presented to Stowe on the Board's
behalf.
