Meeting was called to order by Vice-Chair Scottie Adams
Roll Call: Teleconference: Scott Cowan (Laurel Grove), Jim Davis, Scottie Adams (Cool Branch Rescue), Mike Shelton (640
Rescue), Dean Fowler (Blairs Fire & Rescue), Riley Adkins, (Mt. Cross Fire & Rescue), Jennifer Maurakis (Callands Fire &
Rescue)
Absent: Dr. Dallara, Steve Finkner
Item 1: Agenda was provided and approved.
Minutes from the previous meeting were approved. Motion by Dean Fower, Seconded by Riley Adkins. Passed
Item 2: Med3000 Update
Scottie Adams brought up discussion concerning refusal charges for billing. He discussed it with Jackie at Med3000 and
determined it would be too costly to pursue for little revenue in return. No further discussion, item dropped.
Everyone is receiving their monthly billing summaries from the County Finance Department with no problem. Jim Davis
was duplicating this action. He will no longer be issuing them as well.
New Business:
Item 3: Rate Charges:
According to County Ordinance EMAC has authority to change rates and review them as needed for changes. Motion by
Dean Fowler, seconded by Riley Adkins to have Jim Davis talk to County Attorney on process to make rate changes.

Action Item:
Jim Davis to contact County Attorney and report back to EMAC.
Item 4: General Discussion on what various EMS agencies are doing for retention and recruitment of members.
Item 5: EMAC would like for the Fire & Rescue Association to promote holding two EMT classes per year. 1 in the Spring
and 1 in the Fall.

Action Item:
EMAC request to Steve Finkner to submit on their behalf to the Association’s training committee.
Item 6: Motion by Dean Fowler, seconded by Mike Shelton to have language included in the bylaws to allow
teleconferencing of members in case of absence. Passed
Action Item:
Jim Davis to discuss with County Attorney inserting language in the bylaws.
Item 7: Elections
Jim Davis conducted annual election for Chair and Vice-Chair. Motions from floor were taken without further
nominations of each.

Item 8: EMAC Membership Terms – To be reviewed by Committee
EMAC members are to serve for three years before re-appointments.
