06-02-2015PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY REZONINGS & SPECIAL USES CYCLE 292 Public hearings will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. After the public hearings, the Planning Commission will make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors (“BOS”) and the Board of Zoning Appeals (“BZA”). The schedule contains five (5) Rezoning Applications and two (2) Special Use Permit Applications. The BOS will hold a public hearing and rule on five (5) Rezoning Applications on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. The BZA will hold a public hearing and rule on two (2) Special Use Permit Applications on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. Copies of the proposed Rezoning Applications and Special Use Permit Applications are available for public review in the Office of Code Compliance, 53 North Main Street, Chatham, Virginia, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Case 1 Mark Winston Stevens, R-15- 016 – The property is 7.07 acres, located off State Road 360/Old Richmond Road, in the Dan River Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 2462-04-0537/128-A-55J. The applicant is requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1, Agricultural District for agricultural use. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A- 1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, B-2, Business District, General and MHP, Residential Manufactured Housing Park District uses. Zoning conditions and ordinance standards shall control the density of allowable development. Case 2 Billie O. Goodman, Roger L. Goodman, Angela G. Dawson, Lesley William Goodman, Stephanie Simpson Goodman, R-15-017 – The properties are a total of 4.98 acres, three (3) parcels of land, located off State Road 900/Glenland Road (on Goodman Lane), in the Staunton River Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN #s 2562-42-5583 (2.27 acres), 2562-42- 4762/48-A-1C (1.13 acres) and 2562- 42-6342 (1.58 acres). The applicants are requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1, Agricultural District to make the zoning consistent with its existing use (farming). The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, RC-1, Residential Combined Subdivision District, B-2, Business District, General and MHP, Residential Manufactured Housing Park District uses. Case 3 Renan Fire Department, R- 15-018 – The property is 0.44 acre, located on State Road 761/Straightstone Road, in the Staunton River Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 2581-14- 1715/49-3-1B. The applicant is requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to M-1, Industrial District, Light Industry to combine with the adjacent parcel of land zoned M-1. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, RC-1, Residential Combined Subdivision District, B-2, Business District, General and M-1, Industrial District, Light Industry uses. Jacobs, R-15-019 – The property is 11.61 acres, located on State Road 685/Telegraph Road, in the Staunton River Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 2552-81-7565. The applicant is requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1, Agricultural District to make the zoning consistent with the adjacent parcels of land zoned A-1 and to make the existing single-wide mobile home on the property a permitted use. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, RC-1, Residential Combined Subdivision District and B-2, Business District, General uses. Case 5 Jerry Fitzgerald, R-15-020 – The properties are a total of 32.97 acres, seven (7) parcels of land, located on State Road 686/Elkhorn Road, in the Banister Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN #s 2486-26-8213/90-A-24Q (28.17 acres), 2486-27-9054/90A-1-F-3 (0.78 acre), 2486-27-7091/90A-1-F-1A (1.92 acres), 2486-27-5056/90A-1-E-7 (0.53 acre), 2486-27-4043/90A-1-E-6 (approximately 0.52 acre), 2486-27- 3030/90A-1-E-5 (0.52 acre) and 2486- 26-2926/90A-1-E-4 (0.53 acre). The applicant is requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1, Agricultural District for agricultural use (pastureland). The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, RC-1, Residential Combined Subdivision District, B-2, Business District, General, MHP, Residential Manufactured Housing Park District and M-2, Industrial District, Heavy Industry uses. Davis, S-15-005 – The property is 1.52 acres, located on State Road 719/E Witt Road, in the Chatham- Blairs Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 2421-50-9554/139A-A-1C. The applicants are requesting a Special Use Permit for non-emergency medical transport. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, RC-1, Residential Combined Subdivision District, B-1, Business District, Limited, B-2, Business District, General, MHP, Residential Manufactured Housing Park District, M-1, Industrial District, Light Industry and M-2, Industrial District, Heavy Industry uses.
