05-05-2015PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY REZONINGS CYCLE 291 Public hearings will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. After the public hearings, the Planning Commission will make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors (“BOS”). The schedule contains five (5) Rezoning Applications. The BOS will hold a public hearing and rule on five (5) Rezoning Applications on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. Copies of the proposed Rezoning Applications are available for public review in the Office of Code Compliance, 53 North Main Street, Chatham, Virginia, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Case 1 Brenda T. Hudgins, R-15-011 – The property is 1.26 acres, located on State Road 849/Riley Farm Road, in the Tunstall Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 1349-68-3631/145-A-16F. The applicant is requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to RC-1, Residential Combined Subdivision District to allow for placement of a second dwelling, a 1995 single-wide mobile home, on the property for her personal residence. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, RC-1, Residential Combined Subdivision District, B-2, Business District, General and M-1, Industrial District, Light Industry uses. Zoning conditions and ordinance standards shall control the density of allowable development. Case 2 Arlene D. Cundiff, R-15-012 – The property is 3.15 acres, located on State Road 903/Galveston Road, in the Callands-Gretna Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 2439-09-4367/59-A- 30. The applicant is requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1, Agricultural District to allow for restoration of a second dwelling, an old farmhouse, located on the property. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, RC-1, Residential Combined Subdivision District, B-2, Business District, General, RMF, Residential Multi-Family District, MHP, Residential Manufactured Housing Park District, C-1, Conservation District, M- 1, Industrial District, Light Industry and M-2, Industrial District, Heavy Industry uses. Zoning conditions and ordinance standards shall control the density of allowable development. Case 3 Clifton W. Parrish & Jean L. Parrish, R-15-013 – The property is a parcel of land with no size on file in the Commissioner of Revenue’s office, located on U.S. Highway 58/Martinsville Highway, in the Westover Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 1378-91-5633/161D-2-A-58. The applicants are requesting to rezone from A-1, Agricultural District to B-2, Business District, General to make the zoning consistent with the adjacent parcels of land zoned B-2 and to bring the property into compliance with its current use (flea market). The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, RC-1, Residential Combined Subdivision District, RE, Residential Estates District, B-1, Business District, Limited, B-2, Business District, General, RMF, Residential Multi- Family District and MHP, Residential Manufactured Housing Park District uses. Zoning conditions and ordinance standards shall control the density of allowable development. Case 4 Betty D. Dudley Estate, C. Melvin Dudley, Executor, R-15-014 – The property is 1.13 acre, located on State Road 638/Roark Mill Road, in the Staunton River Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 2564-15-0446 (A-1 portion 0.22 acre). The applicant is requesting to rezone the A-1, Agricultural District portion to R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to make the zoning consistent and to combine with the adjacent parcels of land zoned R-1. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, RC-1, Residential Combined Subdivision District, B-2, Business District, General, RMF, Residential Multi-Family District, MHP, Residential Manufactured Housing Park District and M-1, Industrial District, Light Industry uses. Waller, R-15-015 – The property is 10.22 acres, located on State Road 940/Owens Mill Road, in the Staunton River Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 2523-70-2746/31-4-6A. The applicants are requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1, Agricultural District to allow for subdivision of the property. The Comprehensive Plan indicates the area is suitable for A-1, Agricultural District, R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, RC-1, Residential Combined Subdivision District, B-2, Business District, General, RE, Residential Estates District and MHP, Residential Manufactured Housing Park District uses.
