New Business 1. Goals for Pittsylvania County 2013. How does the Board want Pittsylvania
County to be a better place to live and work?
2. Better ways to improve how the County interacts with its citizens
(a) Better customer service for citizens (b) How citizens perceive our workplace 3. Discuss adding the Olde Dominion Agricultural Complex (ODAC) as a
meeting place for town/city councils or other special meetings
4. Items needing correction and/or referrals to proper committees in order to be
addressed before 2013 year-end (a) Review procedures of items to be added to agenda (1) Presentations should have their own agenda section (ex. “Hearing of
the Citizens, Public Hearings, Presentations, Unfinished Business,
New Business”, etc.)(By-Law amendment)
(2) Verbal Items to be Added to be accompanied by executive summaries in order to be considered – (By-Law amendment) (b) Read Standards of Conduct (either in its entirety or at least highlight
several points).
(1) Signing of Model of Excellence Member Statement
(c) Change how the County installs waterlines to have mandatory hookup for those who sign up with 51% and minimum service fee for those who changed their minds.
(d) Re-visit Regional One contract of $70,000 now that they can bill Medicaid
patients.
(e) How Public Hearings are held and ways we can combine them to save money in advertising cost.
(f) Ways the County can cut down paper usage and go electronic.
(g) Policies and Procedures Manual.
(h) Financial Management Policies Manual
5. Discuss commission/board members who move from the magisterial district of original appointment.
6. Discuss videotaping of Board Meetings to be uploaded to County Website.
(Scott Budd, IT Director, will be present to answer questions).
7. Printer Supplies
8. Credit Cards 9. Request that summaries be made available to the Board of all trips paid for
with County funds/credit cards.
