Public hearings will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. After
the public hearings, the Planning Commission will make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors. The schedule contains (9) Rezoning Applications. The Board of Supervisors will
hold a public hearing and rule on (9) Rezoning Applications on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse
Addition, Chatham, Virginia.
Case 1 Donnie B. Richardson & Marshah W. Richardson, R-10-033 – The property is 4.37 acres, located off State Road 882/West Sunrise Drive, in the Tunstall Election District and shown
on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 1481-26-1147/135B-6-6C. The applicants are requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1, Agricultural
District for agricultural use and for placement of a single-wide mobile home for their son’s residence.
Case 2 Atkinsons, LLC, R-10-034 – The properties are a total of 2.37 acres, two parcels, located on U.S. Highway 29, in the Chatham-Blairs Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania
County Tax maps as GPIN #s 2423-27-1596/111D-1-25 (1.83 acres) and 2423-27-2126/111D-1-21 (0.54 acre). The applicant is requesting to rezone from MHP, Residential Manufactured Housing
Park District and R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to B-2, Business District, General to bring the properties into compliance for their previous and existing use.
Case 3 Rachel L. Hartman, R-10-035 – The property is 2.00 acres, located on State Road 735/Mountain Hill Road, in the Dan River Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County
Tax Maps as GPIN # 2346-12-0975/180-A-71A. The applicant is requesting to rezone from B-2, Business District, General to RC-1, Residential Combined Subdivision District for placement
of a single-wide mobile home for her personal residence and to make the zoning consistent with the general area.
Case 4 W. T. Gatewood, Jr., R-10-036 – The property is 1.938 acres, located on State Road 878/Pine Lake Road, in the Westover Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax
Maps as part of GPIN # 1379-51-1136. The applicant is requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1, Agricultural District to combine with the adjacent
parcel zoned A-1.
Case 5 James A. Mahan, R-10-037 – The property is 7.00 acres, more or less (part of 98.58 acres), located on State Road 649/Anderson Mill Road, in the Tunstall Election District and
shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as part of GPIN # 1488-93-7331/69-7-5. The applicant is requesting to rezone the R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District portion (7.00
acres, more or less) to A-1, Agricultural District to make the 98.58 acres of property all A-1, Agricultural District.
Case 6 Kenneth D. Hawkins & Teresia E. Hawkins, R-10-038 – The property is 2.00 acres, located on State Road 875/Horseshoe Road, in the Westover Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania
County Tax Maps as part of GPIN # 1367-44-9666/160-A-66D. The applicants are requesting to rezone the R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District portion (approximately 2.00 acres)
to A-1, Agricultural District to bring the property into compliance and to make the zoning consistent with the surrounding area.

Maps as GPIN # 2414-45-2822/110-A-39B. The applicant is requesting to rezone from M-1, Industrial District, Light Industry to A-1, Agricultural District for future sale of the property.
Case 8 Kyle O. Garner & Sherri S. Garner, R-10-040 – The property is 26.00 acres, located on the corner of State Road 832 and Fairview North, in the Banister Election District and shown
on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 2435-38-1783. The applicants are requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1, Agricultural District
for agricultural use (horses and a barn).
