VIRGINIA: The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors' ("Board") Special Meeting
was held on November 7, 2024, in the County Administration Conference Room, 1 Center Street,
Chatham, Virginia 24531.
CALL TO ORDER (2:00 PM)
Dalton called the Meeting to Order at 2:00 PM.
ROLL CALL
The following Board Members were present:
Darrell W. Dalton - Callands-Gretna District
Robert M. Tucker, Jr. - Banister District
Kenneth L. Bowman - Chatham-Blairs District
Eddie L. Hite, Jr. - Dan River District
William V. (“Vic”) Ingram - Tunstall District
Murray W. Whittle - Westover District
Timothy W. Dudley, Staunton River District, participated remotely via phone from 115 South Jack
Kultgen Expressway, Waco, TX 76706, due to being on a trip with DRF.

The Board returned to Open Session at 4:07 PM and the following Certification was recorded:

CLOSED MEETING CERTIFICATION
BE IT RESOLVED that at the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors’ (“Board”)
Special Meeting on November 7, 2024, the Board hereby certifies by a recorded vote that to the
best of each Board Member’s knowledge only public business matters lawfully exempted from the
Open Meeting requirements of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (“Act”) and identified in
the Motion authorizing the Closed Meeting were heard, discussed, or considered in the Closed
Meeting. If any Board Member believes that there was a departure from the requirements of the
Act, he shall so state prior to the vote indicating the substance of the departure. The Statement shall
be recorded in the Board's Minutes.

MATTERS FROM CLOSED SESSION
a. County Attorney’s Performance
I make a Motion accepting J. Vaden Hunt’s, Pittsylvania County Attorney, resignation effective
November 20, 2024. The Board agrees to pay Mr .Hunt his full severance per the terms of his
Employment Agreement (dated April 21, 2020) and any and all amendments thereto (Amendment
#1 dated December 21, 2021; and Amendment #2 dated February 21, 2023). Mr. Hunt shall be
allowed to work virtually for the remainder of this employment with the County, subject to
attendance of any required in-person meetings. The Board shall reimburse Mr. Hunt for mileage
for attendance of any required in-person meetings at the IRS mileage rate. The Board also hereby
waives the sixty (60) day resignation notice requirement contained in Section 7 of Mr. Hunt’s
Employment Agreement. The Board thanks Mr. Hunt for his service to the Board and the County.
