Public hearings will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. After the
public hearings, the Planning Commission will make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors. The schedule contains (7) Rezoning Applications and (1) Special Use Permit Application.
The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing and rule on (7) Rezoning Applications on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin
R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia. The Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing and rule on (1) Special Use Permit Application on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at
7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, second floor, Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition, Chatham, Virginia.
Case 1 William B. Harper, R-10-021 – The properties are a total of 1.73 acres, two parcels, located on Highway 41/Franklin Turnpike, in the Westover Election District and shown on the
Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN #s 2410-51-3446/151-4-8 (1.25 acres) and # 2410-51-2374/151-4-6 (0.48 acre). The applicant is requesting to rezone from B-1, Business District, Limited
and R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to B-2, Business District, General for future commercial development.
Case 2 Dennis R. Irby & Cheryl Dawn Jacobs, R-10-022 – The property is 50.69 acres, located off Highway 29 Business/Main Street, Hurt, VA, in the Staunton River Election District and
shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 2545-45-2776/7-A-31A. The applicants are requesting to rezone the R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District portion (6.00 acres)
to A-1, Agricultural District to make the zoning consistent with the remaining 44.69 acres and to construct a shop building.
Case 3 Linda R. Witcher, Et Als, Kenneth L. Rogers, Et Als, Viola M. Martin, Et Als, Queen N. Martin, Et Als, Joanna Rogers, Et Als, and Roberta Bolden, Et Als, R-10-023 – The property
is 9.00 acres, located off State Road 841/Stillmeadow Road, in the Tunstall Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN # 1443-75-5322/105-4-6A. The applicants
are requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1, Agricultural District to survey off a lot for a family member.
Case 4 Estelle Hankins Chaney, R-10-024 – The property is a total of 17.62 acres, two parcels, located on Coy Creek Lane in the Dan River Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania
County Tax Maps as GPIN #s 2346-52-2261/180-A-152 (8.28 acres) and 2346-52-8103/180-A-152A (9.34 acres). The applicant is requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision
District to A-1, Agricultural District for future subdivision of the property for family.
Case 5 Clara F. Vaden, R-10-025 – The property is 2.00 acres, located on State Road 640/Spring Garden Road, in the Banister Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax
Maps as GPIN # 2455-43-0177/101-A-40. The applicant is requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1, Agricultural District to allow for placement
of a second dwelling to be used for her daughter’s residence.
Case 6 James A. & Cynthia C. Holmes, R-10-026 – The properties are a total of 31.15 acres, two parcels, located on State Road 1154/Grubb Road, in the Callands-Gretna Election District
and shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax Maps as GPIN #s 1496-24-5911 (13.72 acres) and 1496-35-1193/83-6-B1 (17.43 acres). The applicants are requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential
Suburban Subdivision District to A-1, Agricultural District to allow for placement of a second dwelling (single-wide mobile home) on one parcel for the care of a family member, to make
the zoning consistent with their adjoining parcels of land and for agricultural use (cattle).

Tax maps as GPIN # 2424-22-5126/111-3-6A. The applicants are requesting to rezone from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District to B-2, Business District, General for a lawn mower,
tractor and car repair business.
Case S-1 Mary Ann Jones, S-10-006 – The property is 1.00 acre, located on Highway 29 Business/North Main Street, Chatham, VA, in the Banister Election District and shown on the Pittsylvania
County Tax Maps as GPIN # 2426-17-1618/85D-24-B. The applicant is requesting a Special Use Permit for emergency services, rescue and medical transport.
