Page 66 of 75 Page 67 of 75 DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE RESOURCES RESEARCH DWR has a trout stocking plan to stock trout throughout the year in the State of Virginia. After some research and talking with our region representative we do not meet some of their requirements to get on the state stocking plan. Page 68 of 75 Page 69 of 75 TROUT STOCKING PLAN Early November 2023 Youth Fishing Day Stock around 700 10-to-12-inch trout. Submit Virginia Fish Stocking Authorization Form. Residents under 16 years of age (also do not need a trout license). Nonresident children under 16 years of age( also do not need a trout license). Depending on success, we can look at the possibility of doing another youth fishing day in February or early March. Page 70 of 75 Page 71 of 75 COST ESTIMATE OF YOUTH FISHING DAY PROGRAM Reached out to a Trout Farm in Virginia to get an idea on cost estimate. To stock around 700 trout, will cost around $1,300. There will be a travel and deliver cost. Total estimate will be between $2,500 to $4,000.
