03-03-2021 NOTICE OF INTENT TO ABANDON ROADNOTICE OF INTENT TO ABANDON ROAD
Pursuant to §33.2-909 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, the Pittsylvania County Board
of Supervisors (“BOS”), at its regularly scheduled Business Meeting on Tuesday, February 16,
2021, unanimously determined that no public necessity exists for the continuation of the
following public road and right-of way, and therefore directed its notice of willingness to
abandon the same be sent to the Virginia Department of Transportation (“VDOT”)
Commissioner. The road and public right-of-way the BOS intends to abandon is described as
follows: the 140.01 foot VDOT right-of-way on Ringgold Industrial Parkway (State Road 1270)
totaling 0.4982 acres, that served as the circular driveway for Intertape Polymer Group (IPG) in
Ringgold, Virginia, as shown on the plat drawn by Dewberry Engineers, and entitled “Ringgold
Industrial Parkway, Pittsylvania County, Virginia, File Number V700B.” By appointment, the
complete road abandonment file, including a detailed plat, is available for inspection in the
Office of the Pittsylvania County Administrator, 1 Center Street, Chatham, Virginia, Monday
through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. If any individual wishes to petition
