Holiday Operations
Positives
Christmas and New Years fell on Tuesday instead of Monday
First Piedmont pulled boxes on Wednesday and Friday to supplement our operations
First Piedmont provided extra day of collections at green box sites
County staff pulled limited number of boxes on Sunday
Part-time County employee kept all green box sites clean
Significant improvement over prior year (D-to a B+)
Negatives
Sites were barely able to handle trash on Christmas Day and New Years Day (Only days when
landfill and collection employees were not working)
Lack of ability to keep full collection fleet operating due to age and condition of equipment
Vacancy of 1 driver position (We are currently at full staff)
Shortage of open top boxes (We continue to repair and paint previously abandoned boxes)
