Support for Critical Care FacilityPITTSYLVANIA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
RESOLUTION
2007-07-57
WHEREAS, The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors has been working
diligently to provide upgraded medical care assistance throughout Pittsylvania County;
and
WHEREAS, the County has worked with LifePoint Hospital Systems in Danville
to provide service in the County, and with the Town of Chatham for a new nursing home
facility in the middle of the County and provided updated utility services for medical
facilities in Gretna; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has been concentrating on a type of
critical care facility in the Hurt area or the area north of Gretna to provide additional
service for citizens in that community; then
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Pittsylvania County Board of
Supervisors goes on record supporting a critical care facility north of Gretna or
centralized in the Town of Hurt to provide critical medical care to the citizens of
Pittsylvania County and lower Campbell County on an emergency basis; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
the Virginia Department of Health, The Western Piedmont Emergency Medical Services
Council, and parties interested in developing critical care services north of Gretna,
Virginia.
