RESOLUTION
2010-OS-03
WHEREAS, Pittsylvania County has served as the fiscal agent for the Pittsylvania
County Historical Society in grant applications through the Virginia Department of
Transportation for the restoration of the Chatham Train Depot since 2001; and
WHEREAS, the Historical Society and staff of the County have been working since
2003 on completion of the restorations to this train depot; and
WHEREAS, the restoration process of the Chatham Train Depot is currently in
Phase III of necessary construction and restorations; and
WHEREAS, Pittsylvania County, the sponsor of this project, has entered into four
previous agreements with the Virginia Department of Transportation for work to be done to
this depot; and
WHEREAS, at their regular meeting on Monday, May 3, 2010, motion was made
by the Honorable Fred Ingram, seconded by the Honorable Marshall Ecker, to approve a
new administrative agreement between Pittsylvania County and the Virginia Department of
Transportation for work to be done to this depot and authorized the County Administrator to
sign all necessary documentation concerning this administrative agreement; then
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors
unanimously approved the motion made by the Honorable Fred Ingram, approving the new
administrative agreement dated May 3, 2010 between Pittsylvania County and the Virginia
Department of Transportation for work to be done on the Chatham Train Depot and
authorized the County Administrator, Mr. William D. Sleeper, to sign all necessary
documentation pertaining to this agreement.
