RESOLUTION
2010-03-11
VIRGINIA: AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS IN THE GENERAL DISTRICT COURTROOM 1N
CHATHAM, VIRGiNIA ON MONDAY, MARCH 1, 2010, THE FOLLOWING
RESOLUTION WAS PRESENTED AND ADOPTED:
WHEREAS, the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors and the Pittsylvania County
School Board have jointly worked on renovations to the four high schools in Pittsylvania
County; and
WHEREAS, that construction is expected to be completed in June of 2010 for the area
in front of each high school; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Transportation currently maintains educational
access roads to the County High Schools all of which require repair and resurfacing; then
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors that
they respectfully request the Virginia Department of Transportation to repair and resurface the
following roads:
1. Chatham High School, Cavalier Circle (State Route No. 9320)
2. Gretna High School, Gretna Hawks Circle (State Route No. 9844)
3. Dan River High School, Dan River Wildcat Circle (State Route No. 9843)
4. Tunstall High School, Trojan Circle (State Route No. 9324); and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Chatham
Residency, the Halifax County Residency and the Lynchburg District Office on behalf of the
Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors.

Re: Maintenance and Resurfacing - Pittsylvania County High Schools
Dear Mr. Hamilton:
At the regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors on Monday, March 1, 2010, the Board of Supervisors
passed a Resolution requesting the Virginia Department of Transportation to repair and resurface the
entrance roads to each of the four high schools in Pittsylvania County.
The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors, working with the Pittsylvania County School Board, has
recently renovated all four high schools in Pittsylvania County. With the new improvements to the high
schools, the Board is requesting that the entrance roads that are under State maintenance for educational
access purposes, be repaired and resurfaced in order not to distract from the renovations of the new high
schools.
