Proclamation
Tremaine Edmunds
May 4, 2018
WHEREAS: Fe'Zahn "Tremaine" Edmunds is a 20 -year-old male who is a native of Pittsylvania County; and
WHEREAS, Tremaine Edmunds, son of Ferrell Edmunds Jr. and Felecia Edmunds, was a resident of the Ringgold
community in Pittsylvania County, and a 2015 graduate of Dan River High School where he was a Graduate of Merit;
and
WHEREAS, while at Dan River High School in 2014, Edmunds won a State Champion title in track and also was a
member of the winning State Championship Basketball team; and
WHEREAS, Edmunds attended and played college football at Virginia Tech from 2015 - 2017; and
WHEREAS, his junior season in 2017, he was a finalist for the Butkus Award after recording 108 tackles and 5.5 sacks;
and
WHEREAS, after the season, he decided to forgo his senior year and enter the 2018 NFL Draft where he was the 161'
pick in the first round; and
WHEREAS, Edmunds signed with the Buffalo Bills as a linebacker on April 26, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Tremaine Edmunds, along with his two brothers, Trey and Terrell, are all part of the NFL; and
WHEREAS, Tremaine and Terrell are the first set of brothers to be drafted in the first round of the some NFL Draft; and
WHEREAS Tremaine and his brothers have performed admirably throughout their journey, bringing recognition not
only to themselves, but to their family, school, and to Pittsylvania County; then
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors expresses its congratulations and admiration to
Tremaine Edmunds on becoming a player for the NFL; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this proclamation be presented to Tremaine Edmunds and made part of the
County's permanent record.
