02-19-2015 Special Call MeetingSpecial Call Meeting February 19, 2015 Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors Thursday, February 19, 2015 Special Session VIRGINIA: The Special Session of the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors was held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 in the James T. Emerson Education & Conference Center located in the Olde Dominion Agricultural Complex at 19873 US Highway 29 South in Chatham, Virginia. Brenda H. Bowman, Chair, called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. The following members were present: Jessie L. Barksdale Banister District James H. Snead Dan River District Brenda H. Bowman Chatham-Blairs District Jerry A. Hagerman Callands-Gretna District Elton W. Blackstock Staunton River District Coy E. Harville Westover District Mr. Tim R. Barber, Tunstall District was absent. Mr. Clarence C. Monday, County Administrator, J. Vaden Hunt, Mr. Greg Sides, Assistant County Administrator for Planning & Development, Mr. Fred Wydner, Director of Agribusiness Development, and Ms. Rebecca Flippen, Deputy Clerk to the Board, were also present. Approval of Agenda Motion was made by Mr. Harville, seconded by Mr. Blackstock, to approve the agenda, which was unanimously approved by the Board, with the exception of Mr. Barber, who was absent. New Business Mr. Monday explained the Board of Supervisors approved the issuance of a Request For Proposals (RFP) in July 2014 for the completion of a feasibility study of recruiting and retaining a vertically integrated poultry complex in Pittsylvania County. The RFP was awarded to BR Bock Consulting, Inc., who was now present and prepared to present the firm’s findings of the feasibility study. Mr. Bert Bock, of BR Bock Consulting, Inc. presented the study to the Board, and the presentation including via teleconference the input of subcontractors Sam McLamb of Broad Energy Solutions and Lawton Lewis of Lewis Consulting, both of which participated in conducting the study with Mr. Bock. No action was taken by the Board. Adjournment Motion was made by Ms. Harville, seconded by Mr. Blackstock, to adjourn, which was unanimously approved by the Board with the exception of Mr. Barber, who was absent.
