BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Charles B Davis, Jr., and Sandra M. Davis petitioned the Planning Commission/Board of Zoning Appeals on
June 27, 2013, requesting a Special Use Permit on 1.50 acre, shown on the Pittsylvania County Tax maps as
GPIN # 1379-41-8068, located on State Road 878/Pine Lake Road, in the Westover Election District.
The applicants would like a Special Use Permit for a public garage. The garage was constructed in 2008, at
the same time the applicants' home was constructed. At the time of construction, the applicant had planned
for this garage to be his "hobby shop" to work on old cars; however, the garage has grown into a full-service
auto repair facility. The applicant has two (2) employees in addition to himself and his business is fully
insured. The applicant desires the Special Use Permit to bring his property into compliance.
