VIRGINIA: The Pittsylvania County Board oE Zoning Appeals met on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, in the Genexal
District Courtcoom, Edurin R. Shields Courthouse Addidon, Chatham, Virginia. Ms. Talbott called the meeting to
order at approximately 7:00 p.m. Ivlr. Yeaman gave the invocation. Mr. Shelton called the roll.

By motion of Ivlt. Reynolds, seconded by Iv�. Estes, and by unanimous vote the Minutes of rhe October 9, 2012,
meeting were appxoved as presented.

THE ZONING PRECEPTS WERE READ BY Iv�. Talbott to OPEN THE PUBLIC HEARING at
appro�mately 7:02 p.m.
Case S-1. Kenneth Simpson� S-12-017 — Mr. Talbott opened the public heanng at appxo�nately 7:03 p.m. Ivlr.
Shelton, Duector of Code Compliance, repoxted Kenneth Simpson had peririoned for a Special Use Pemut on 4.50
acres, located on State Road 665/Rockford School Road, in the Staunton River Elecrion District for placement of a
single-uride mobile home for his granddaughter's residence. Mr. Shelton furrher reported che Planning Commission,
with no opposidon, recommended granting the peririoner's request. Mr. Sunpson was present to represent the
peridon. N�. Simpson stated there was no opposirion at the Planning Commission meering, he had talked to the
neighbors reguding the petirion and he was just m,ting to help his gxanddaughter. There was no opposiaon to the
peddon. Mr. Talbott closed the public hearing at approximately 7:04 p.m. The Board discussed the perition as the

Committee of the Whole and detemuned there were no advexse effeds. During [he discussion it was stated there
wexe othex mobIle homes in the immediate azea. lipon motion of Mr. Estes, seconded by Ms. Reynolds, the
following motion was adopted: Wheteas, Kenneth Sunpson has petidoned the Board of Zoning Appeals for a
Special Use Pemut for placement of a single-wide mobile home for his granddaughter's residence and, Wheteas, we
find no substanual detriment to adjacent pxopexty, that the chazacter of the zoning district will not be changed
thereby, and that such use will be in harmony with the purpose and intent of the Ordinance, I move the Special Use
Pern�it be granted. Motion passed unanimous.
This concludes the Special Use Case.
Mr. Sunpson and Mr. Shelton discussed the time lisnitations on the Special Use Pumit.
